Your exegesis is impressive. I was wondering if you have prepared an entry on Revelation 5:11-14, which figures so prominently in trinitarian attempts to prove that Jesus is to be worshipped equally with the Father. It would be great to see your take on the passage. Especially needing explanation, in my opinion, is how it can be appropriate to ascribe "glory," "blessing," "honor" etc. to Jesus. Also, it seems that Jesus is being praised here. If so, is it appropriate to praise Jesus? Again, your take would be appreciated.

I haven't specifically studied the scripture in question, but, briefly, here's how I see it:

I don’t see that Jesus is to be worshiped equally with the Father here (or anywhere else). See the WORSHIP study on this blog. Note 1 Chron. 29:20.

As for “glory” and similar descriptions, notice the different uses of “glory” in Rev. 21:23-26 and 2 Thess. 2:14 (some Christians will actually share in the glory of Jesus) - NIVSB footnote says “Ultimately there is no glory other than God’s” (cf., John 8:54).

We can praise anyone we wish. It is scripturally acceptable to praise God, Jesus, and others: Phil. 1:11 (epainos); Luke 18:43 (epainos); Ro. 2:29 (epainos); Ro. 13:3 (epainos); 1 Cor. 4:5 (epainos); 1 Peter 1:7 (epainos)

Thank you for your helpful and timely follow up! 1 Chronicles 29:20 is a very illuminating text for understanding Revelation 5:11-14; and the text you listed for understanding the New Testament doctrine on praise and glory were enlightening too. Perhaps you will share your opinion on another matter: I assume you believe biblically it is okay to sing praises about Jesus and give thanks to God for Jesus, but do you believe that biblically it is appropriate to sing hymns to Jesus or to thank him and praise him now here on earth while he is in heaven? Obviously, Revelation 5:11-14 shows that those in heaven so praise and thank him. Again, your opinion would be most appreciated! Thanks, again, for your answer to my last question.
